02 — Coffee & Local Life

Taste the territory

Shade-grown under high-altitude cloud forest canopies, Oxapampa’s specialty coffee reflects the climate and passion of local farming families.

Explore organic coffee fincas, taste artisanal honey, and discover local micro-lot harvests that connect consumers directly with rural sustainable production.

03 — Local Biodiversity

Discover the beautiful local biodiversity: Andean Cock-of-the-rock (Rupicola peruvianus)

The Andean Cock-of-the-rock, known in Peru as the Gallito de las Rocas, is one of the most iconic birds of the Andean-Amazonian forests. With its vivid orange-red plumage and distinctive crest, the male is particularly spectacular. These birds live in humid forests and are often associated with rocky areas, where males gather in groups to perform courtship displays. Seeing one in its natural habitat is a reminder of the extraordinary biodiversity hidden within Oxapampa’s forests.

04 — Coffee & Local Life

Discover the beautiful local biodiversity: Orchids

Oxapampa’s forests are home to an extraordinary diversity of orchids, a family of plants known for their remarkable shapes, colours, and adaptations. Many grow as epiphytes, using trees as a place to live while obtaining moisture and nutrients from their surroundings rather than taking them from the host.

From tiny, delicate flowers to spectacular species, orchids reveal the incredible complexity of the cloud forest — where even the smallest details tell a story of adaptation and life.
